Many of the crankshaft supports that are sold in the junior dragster industry do not satisfy the meaning as defined above.

Base supports with lightening slots and thin / flexible materials do not  keep the crankshaft from flexing and do nothing to reduce movement and breakage. Many of these examples may be flexed just with simple pressure from your hand.

We have always produced very sturdy solid aluminum base plates -- we have now introduced our new base plate made from a proprietary steel material to further support the crankshaft and clutch assembly.

Since the majority of the junior dragsters running now days have significant amounts of weight on-board to comply with E.T. rules, we decided to move ahead with this heavier system.  Our logic is if we have the opportunity to improve the crank support, why not ?   If some of the weight on these cars can be used to improve engine stability, reliability and to produce more consistent performance, why not ?

Our base plate weighs about 9 pounds which is about double what a conventional system does, but is much stronger and considerably stiffer.  It also positions the extra weight right above the rear tires to improve traction.

One of the biggest improvements in the V8 engine was when the four bolt main bearing system was introduced. It vastly improved the stability of the crankshaft.

Our system basically turns a two bearing system into a true four bearing scenario.

Much stiffer.    Much less flexing.
